- Cal State Receives $1.6 Million From AT&T Foundation for College Access Initiatives - PND - News - Cal State Receives $1.6 Million From AT&T Foundation for College Access Initiatives: California State University has announced a four-year, $1.6 million grant from the AT&T Foundation for two programs designed to expand access to college for students in traditionally underserved communities and bolster California 9;s professional workforce. A portion of the grant will be used to fund the Road to College bus tour, a statewide education and outreach campaign that works to improve underserved student access to the CSU system. The bus, which holds more than 150 students, is outfitted with high-speed, Internet-ready laptop computers linked to CSUMentor, CSU's planning and application Web site. The hands-on experience will give students an opportunity to take a virtual tour of CSU's twenty-three campuses, learn about financial aid and scholarships, and fill out a college application.
